Who should it be?

I would really like to have Ford in.  He did good enough in his start against THE Auburn University.  He had a little fumbling problem and had class issues, but if he's over it, then play the kid.

My realistic pick would be Jamar Taylor

a featured back needs to block, run, catch. But especially block.

For right now that would mean Ben Williams.

A 3rd down and long back needs to block. A ferutured back needs to be able to pound the ball 25 times, and be a threat to break one on every play. Just watch the short runs. When Williams is hit he is done, when Ford is hit he falls forawrd for 2 yards. But like someone said, Taylor has looked like the best pure runner this year.

I miss Andre also. Didn't realize how different our O was then. Looks like we weren't so spread out then. We just lined up, created a hole, and watched Andre run over, around, and through the defense.

And by the way, we do have a "featured back". His name is Matt Grothe, I don't know if that's what we want, but thats it. If we need two yards, who else would you rather have holding the ball (not running backwards of course like the designed run on Saturday).

Ford's numbers v. Auburn

CAR YDS AVG TD LG

M. Ford 21 74 3.5 1 20

Not as great as everyone makes them sound

Since Ford is not capable of pounding the ball 25 times and I assume Taylor is not either, you confirmed davdav's statement.

Williams stops every time he is hit and Ford gets two more yards... obviously you see what you want to see?
