Is there  a common thread?  FAU, RU, Uconn

have we gone back to being a poor road team?

or is it just bad "luck"?

is it coaching? players? the ranking?

poor starts in the last 2 games...then some good adjustments.

CJL teams get better as the year goes on...yet this year we seem to regress.

why is our Oline not good enough to get 2YDS on 4 tries?

would a QB sneak 4 times be better than what we did on the last drive?

I love the bulls...and the momentum we built up at 6-0 is slipping.

will we regroup?

will the fundamentals improve?

what wil it take to get back to winning?

go bulls!

just win jim!

having 3 OL and your #1 receiver out doesn't exactly help out our team.

Our play calling has sucked pretty much all season.  We have been outcoached in a number of games including some we won, we managed to pull off close wins vs elon, auburn, wvu and fau.  We were outcoached in the fau, ru, uconn, and possibly more.  Our play calling is as bad or worse then it ever was with rod smith.

It's simple Rutgers beat us last year, and we got handled last time we went up to UCONN years ago.  We don't matchup well with teams that run the ball up the middle all three of those games are common:

FAU - The big fullback killed us

Rutgers - Ray Rice

UCON - Gave up another 100 yard rusher

Our defense isn't physical like everyone wants to believe, our secondary hates contact and it shows.  Plus we have been riding that thin line of Groethe pulling plays out of his a** all season.  I said it another thread the offense is weak, and we just can't sustain drives unless Grothe is running the ball almost every play.  Sure we have some good passes, and Ben Williams will rip off a good run but we don't do any of that consistently enough to win close games.

bump tackles, bad plays called, lack of intensity (it seems), bump tackles, ego inflated overconfident players (rankings), mismanagement of players (really, it took 7.5 games to realize how Mike Ford can change a game?), bad special teams, a bad field goal kicker, and bump tackles

I'm really disappointed with the team. The Rutgers loss is one thing (stolen by the refs), but this loss is unacceptable. UConn is a team we should have come out and dominated! I don't care what the weather is like. The defense came out incredibly flat and needs to learn how to tackle again. Can we get the recievers some gloves made of duct tape. What was with that squib kick type kick off after USF had just scored a TD, it gave UConn a short field and all the momentum back. I really think the rankings went to the players heads. Attention USF offense and defense: Just because you are ranked does not mean you get an automatic victory, for examples see WVU, RU, and UConn. Yeah, thanks for playing 30 minutes of football on Saturday. Oh yeah, did I mention bump tackles! Hey Coach Gregory, a quote for you to live by: Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

P.S. Leavitt should go steal a guy from the soccer team and make him kick field goals.

can't really blame the rankings, they've had losses like this the last 4 years. pretty much a common thread with all of those big loses...

We need a new kicker. With those 6 points, we would have been better positioned.

The only thing that was really different this game was the bad tackling all game long. Our offense has been inconsistent and a one man show all year, our running backs have been inconsistent and whoever is out there seems to drop balls. Injuries and coaches catching on to Matt Groethe seem to be the big differences between earlier and now in the season. If we can stop the bumper ball tackling out there we can be a good team again.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
