The call will also hurt the B.E. as a whole.  No way anyone gives UConn respect, even if they finish the season with 1 loss.

They'll get more respect than USF.

Wrong as usual.  UConn can win out and won't sniff the #2 spot.

Or, USF winning out, + UConn just dropping 2 (finishing 5-2) + WVU losing one (finishing 5-2) + Rutgers losing 1 more would throw the conference into a 3-way tie with us, UConn, and WVU, each having won one and lost one to each of the others. We'd all be co-champs, and depending on WVU's loss (which, given the remainder of their schedule, would likely be both 1. to an unranked team and 2. late in the season) and subsequent ranking (we wouldn't have to worry about UConn's ranking if they drop 3) would leave the tiebreaker up to the highest BCS ranking, which we could conceivably hold.

True... It would be possible for USF, WVU, and U Conn to finish as co-champions and USF might be the highest ranked of the three teams.  Of course, that only happens if WVU is one of U Conn's 2 losses.  Otherwise, U Conn wins the tie breaker by being 2-0 against USF and WVU.

So although it's a long shot, technically we're not out of it yet.

Correct--I neglected that part.

correct, anything can still happen, and with the way this college football season is going, who knows what will happen
