How is the guy running down the field supposed to know if this punk UConn dude really called a fair catch or is just "playing a mind game".  Maybe Gilliam can ask the ref before the snap, "what if I see him raise his hand, but it doesn't look like the official fair catch signal, can I tackle him?"

This kid opened himself up for a world of hurt for the rest of the season.

Which reveals yet another way the Big East screwed this up: they have failed to nip this situation in the bud. Instead of apologizing for what happened last week, the Big East needs to put out a release that says "any player who attempts to advance the ball by exploiting rules designed for his own safety will be dealt with severely. As will any hit that looks like retribution."

The play reminds me of a few years back when the QB for Hofstra, sorry can't remember the POS's  (Peice of S***)  name (Something like Graziano) pretended to run out of bounds and shook the ball in front of the defenders face in a taunting fashion. The defender, did what defenders do he "Blew him up!" It was beautiful!. Well, the 15 yard penalty & subsequent first down allowed the drive to continue and Hofstra won the game. I can only hope that these type of players always get their due!!!! Sometimes we don't get to enjoy the payback!
