I don't think he is backpedaling per se, I think he saw the team destroy UCF like they were supposed to and not turn the ball over as opposed to FAU.

He picked USF to win, UCF to cover.  I don't think he expected this.  Not that I blame him, I was confident but didn't expect to hang 64.  There's just no chance he's going to say "USF has proven me wrong."  Not that I really expect that either.

I would say he was very fair in the first segment.  That's all you can ask.  I was half expecting a "Don't think you did anything, it was only UCF."  Eh, we'll see.
