That's awesome!  Even though I think 2.6 million is a low number.  Then again, it's a friday night...

We probably would have been the highest watched ever if they had TVs in West Virginia.

I heard on Derek Sharp's 7pm show today that the USF-WVa game was the 2nd highest rated game on ESPN2, ever! Not the 2nd best on a Friday, but the 2nd best game ever on ESPN2. A 2.7 with 2.6 million households. The best was LSU-Tenn a few years ago.

USF-WVU game second-best ever on ESPN2

Friday's USF-West Virginia football game at Raymond James Stadium is the second-highest regular-season football broadcast ever for ESPN2, viewed by an estimated 2.6-million households.

According to ESPN, Friday's game drew a Nielsen rating of 2.7, which is second in ESPN2's history behind a 2005 game between LSU and Tennessee. The USF-West Virginia ratings are the second-highest since ESPN2 started broadcasting college football games in 1993, a span of more than 525 games.

The game was only the second Friday night game on ESPN2 to feature two ranked opponents and was the highest combined ranking ever for such a game.

This best part was that we won in front of a sell out crowd which will impress many across the nation.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
