Also, trust the same coaching staff that has brought you the #6 team in the country. We may have a verbal from a blue-chip recruit already, but they have agreed to keep their names off the 'lists' so that other teams will not try swaying them because they think that they've got them in their pocket. First of all once the high school season starts recruiting always slows down as the kids focus on their season and class, their social lives etc. For this season to have a huge impact on recruiting we need to win the BE or even dare i say it, a national title. Its these things that are set in stone and concrete after the recruits seasons end that have the biggest impact on recruits. Its great to be ranked #6 in the nation right now but there is still a ton of games to be played and we could just as easily fall out of the top 25 as we could win the BE. We need to have a full season of success for this year to boost recruiting as the most active time in recruiting is just after the high school kids come back from their Christmas vacation and the college bowls are over and the staff is allowed to contact the kids again. This is also when your bowl game win or lose is still fresh in these kids heads. If your expecting things to change all of a sudden and kids to just start committing from all over during this time of the year because of one huge win you really don't know how the recruiting process works. Last year we had 13 3 star recruits. That was our best recruiting class ever. You have to wait a little bit and let this top 10 ranking sink in. Recruiting will pick up more in the off season when players take their official visits. You also have to take into consideration the system we run here, the coaching staff takes in players that fit the system regardless of their Star ranking. I think this years recruiting class will eclipse last years.

They will have kids at every game to watch us play for the rest of the season. the caliber of the kids to come to games will also increase. Not to mention they have been going outside of Florida a little lately and guys have not even done their official visits yet.The exposure and the continued winning will open things up. Jamie Posted October 1, 2007 Group: Member Topic Count: 0 Content Count: 3,307 Reputation: 12 Days Won: 1 Joined: 01/26/2002 Share Posted October 1, 2007 The biggest impact on recruiting, at least right away, is going to be on out of state schools that recruit Florida. The two coaches who have to be the most upset about this are Kirk Ferentz and Greg Schiano. Why would someone go to Iowa or New Jersey for big time college football when they can go to USF and get the same thing, or even better?

Guest USF08
All I know is that when they were showing the cut scenes of the Jersey Turnpike in that Rutgers loss, I was wondering why in the world our Florida talent would want to go to that place. It was negative advertising all the way around.

We will be just fine. Also, as a few others said some 4 and 5ers will roll in on signing day. Guaranteed.

Yes, there are plenty of four and five star guys we would love to have, but we want them because of who they are rather than their ranking. We are VERY selective, but that doesnt always show up in the rankings.A player has to fit OUR system and has to have the proper character, mentality and work ethic. Things like focus and discipline are difficult to quantify.I'm not at all worried. I know we willl land more of the highly ranked recruits, because more of them are taking a serious look at USF NOW for the first time. It's FSU and Miami who should be worried about losing recruits to USF from here on out.
