Rivals shows that we have 57 recruits with offers to play for USF.  However, only 7 of them have more than 4 stars, 4 of those have already verballed to another school, and one is a RB who will likely decline to come here given the depth we already have.

I wouldn't be too sure of that.  I think it will have an impact.  Maybe not major this year, but in the next few years it will have a certain impact.

what about longterm?

I think success will continue to impact our chances at kids that might think about other schools

it just stands to reason.

as long as CJL gets the players he wants-- we'll continue to do the job on the field

Watch some of the verbals to other schools reconsider, and instead choose USF.

The recruits will roll in later in the year.

It's not even October, a verbal can change by February.

This game definately helped and this season will help even more.

Go BULLS !!!

Oh ... and I guess we should thank the Big 3 for their "leftovers"  ;D

i don't see how there can't be a huge impact on recruiting. even if we don't get a bunch of great players, you're going to see USF on 5-star recruits' short lists. they may not sign with us, but just the fact that we're on everyone's radar is huge.

Just because we came from nowhere to #6 overnight doesnt meant the rest of the nation can move as fast as our team.  Just takes time.

My point is that if we aren't targeting any different than we have in the past, then we cannot expect to see an impact.  If anything, i'd say that we are targeting LESS higher profile recruits than in previous years.  I've always felt that Leavitt does a great job taking what is left after the elite teams take their share, identifying the gems amongst them, and getting them here.  However, we need to capitalize on our newly found popularity, and we cannot do that if we aren't targeting the top recruits.

inpact wont be seen until AFTER we go into a BCS Bowl. So if we go on to win the Big East and play in OB, youll see recruiting boom next year.

Remember verbal commits mean nothing until they sign in Feb. We play our games and win you could see a few changes. But it will take a couple of years for recruiting to explode.
