I know they were saying Boise State was faster from going Div 1a into Top 25 ranking, but what about now?

Has a team ever done this? Gone from non existent to #6 in the country in 11 years?

I realize you all realize this, but I just have to say it: Folks, do you realize how unprecedented this is?

USF is making (has made) college football history. Glad to be on board with this great school! Congrats to the coaches and players on making this a reality.

That's a good question. I don't know that Boise State made it to the top 10 faster than we just did ... where/who is our Stat Guru for this board?

Boise State did not make it into the top 10 in 2002 which is their first year in the polls to my knowledge.

Wrong year my friend it was 2002 as I stated

http://www.collegefootballpoll.com/polls_1936_present_h.html

They were 8-4 in 2001 and did not go to a bowl game.

In 2002 they finished with 1 loss and ended ranked 15 they never made it into the top 10 until last year so the answer is yes this is a record for the Top 10

And we also made it faster than any team from not having a team to being ranked.  Boise State was around for decades before moving to 1-A.

What has happened is unprecedented.

You're right.  That was a typo on my part.  Thanks for spotting it!

Wow, so it really is unprecedented.

Let me just type it out so I can read it over and over again:

USF HAS RISEN FROM NOTHING TO TOP 10 IN THE COUNTRY IN 11 YEARS, THE FASTEST IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL HISTORY.

Considering USF did it in a state already dominated by 3 national championship BCS teams and also doing it in a pro sports town, well..

Schnikees.

Where's the "Fire CJL/CJL Cant take us to the next level" crowd now?  ;D ;D

The national media has been saying that Boise St was faster in getting ranked than USF. But they are wrong! Boise St started I-A football in 1996, a full year before USF had even played a game of football! Boise St played in I-AA from 1978 until 1995.

USF holds the record for fastest to a ranking and fastest to a top 10 ranking.
