I'd like to pick those suckers off one by one and be very public about why we're scheduling them. Sort of like a HIT LIST and then you can have signs at the games with the list and their names being crossed off. Here's a list of teams that I would love to see us play again to avenge our loss! I hate knowing there are teams out there that we've played, but never beaten. Especially IAA teams!

SchoolWonLostLast Meeting

Alabama012003 Lost 40-17 (Birmingham)

Arkansas012002 Lost 42-3 (Little Rock)

Baylor012000 Lost 28-13 (Waco)

Drake (IAA)011997 Lost 23-22 (Tampa)

Georgia Southern (IAA)021998 Lost 28-23 (Statesboro)

Hofstra (IAA)021999 Lost 42-23 (Tampa)

Kansas012006 Lost 13-7 (Lawrence)

Kentucky012000 Lost 27-9 (Lexington)

Miami012005 Lost 27-7 (Miami)

Middle Tennessee State012000 Lost 45-9 (Murfeesboro)

North Carolina State012005 Lost 14-0 (Charlotte)

Oklahoma012002 Lost 31-14 (Norman)

Penn Sate012005 Lost 23-13 (University Pk)

San Diego State011999 Lost 41-12 (San Diego)

South Carolina012004 Lost 34-3 (Columbia)

Utah012001 Lost 52-21 (Salt Lake City)

(stats taken from http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Pressbox/8121/dabucsdb/usfvs.htm)The three IAA teams on this list should be on our future schedule as opening games! We play Kansas and NC State next year, and then Miami the following year, so this list should start getting shorter soon!We should forward this list to Woolard. Who is going to be good 4 years from now ? Miami had a bad year last year but could win the ACC this year. Illinios has been bad for years but this year they are looking strong. I want to see us strong for our conference run and putting to many highly ranked teams on our OOC schedule could be suicide. You get beat up to bad. Guest
From the Macon Telegraph...University Of GeorgiaGOOD CALLThe rise of South Florida from unknown to No. 6 in this week's Associated Press rankings has caught many people off guard, but Richt saw it coming several years ago. The Boca Raton, Fla., native was so sure of it that he asked his athletics director Damon Evans not to schedule the Bulls several years ago."The administration came to me and was like, 'How would you like to play South Florida?' I said, 'No. They are too fast. They are too talented. They are well-coached, and they are a team that would just love to make a reputation by playing us and beating us,' " he said. "I'd rather play a perennial top-10 team than to play them."Link

When do they come to Tampa? Those will be tough tickets in Gainesville.

And the site has it wrong... when USF signed the extended deal with Miami, the 2011 game was pushed back to 2015...

FAUFB Posted October 4, 2007 Group: Member Topic Count: 0 Content Count: 60 Reputation: 0 Days Won: 0 Joined: 10/02/2007 Share Posted October 4, 2007 IMO the NCAA should look at creating a rotating schedule, where every conference would play at least one game against one another. That way, it would create some parity as it progresses in CFB. Example BE v. Big 12, CUSA v. PAC 10, SBelt v. ACC & so on. The next year then, change it up. It doesn't have to be the powerhouses against the lower teams, but the powerhouses would have to travel to the lower teams, just to make it better for the lower teams.
