He's in a rough spot no doubt. A Gator that has to write about bulls sports...it was probably never that hard before when USF was second tier to UF.

We love ya Greg, hang in there

It was his choice to get an inferior education from an inferior institution. Here's some deductive reasoning for all of UF nation...

If A>B,

and B>C,

then A>C.

In other words...

If USF beats Auburn at Auburn,

and Auburn beats UF at Gainesville,

then USF is better then UF...

Pretty simple logic!

Well, Greg's calling for UF to still be ranked ahead of USF. Nice.

I'm not sure it helps me to post on a thread like this, but here goes:

it's "pretty simple logic" -- sensible in most instances -- to but it's easy to disprove if you use a less simple situation. tell me where you rank penn state this week, then make sure you rank these five teams above them:

Penn State lost to Michigan

Michigan lost to Appalachian State

Appalachian State lost to Wofford

Wofford lost to N.C. State

N.C. State lost to Central Florida

(makes that USF-UCF game even bigger if they're both in the top 10)

or, if you'd rather, do you think USF should be ranked ahead of Oklahoma? because by that simple logic,

Oklahoma lost to Colorado

Colorado lost to Florida State

how much do you weigh head-to-head results in ranking teams? what about indirect competition, such as

USF > Auburn > Florida?

it's really anything but simple. if you use simple arguments, they'll contradict themselves more and more as the season progresses. you'll get A > B > C > A, and good luck ranking off that pecking order.

i'm trying to address the ranking issue here, but I really can't say enough about how little where I went to college affects my writing and my job. you guys have every right to bring it up, but I don't think there's any significance to it.
