What's with the Pink Flamingos in the USF Student section during the USF/UWV game?

Someone told me it was a student movement to create a new mascot called "WAR FLAMINGO"...sounds pretty funny and makes fun of the Auburn War Eagle?

I think it's not really about making fun of AU, more about just having some fun during an upbeat time.

The idea of War Flamingo was created during the Auburn game,by couple members of the SBC. It's movement to create second mascot. Since Auburn has its tiger and its War Eagle,why can't USF has its Bull and its War Flamingo?It will be an awesome sight in Ray J to see 20 Flamingos take flight during the pre-game ceremonies.

Yes, a group in Student Bulls Club the week before Auburn decided we should have a second mascot as well. Seagull was discussed and turned down, and flamingo came up. Somebody pointed out that we dont have flamingos at our games, so they started bringing them. There was at least 4 flamingos there last night.

As some else pointed out, however, seeing a Beagle take flight would be more impressive.
