There's three games to pay attention to today. K-State vs. #7 Texas, Mich. State vs. #9 Wisconsin, and #6 Cal vs. #11 Oregon. We can fall below 10. Go Bulls!!

remember also that we have to cheer for auburn since they play in Gainesville and Clemson plays Georgia Tech in Atlanta

I think we'll end up between 12 and 14 but could move up depending on how Saturday games turn out

No higher than 12 and probably will be 13 or 14.

Defense gave up 400+ yards and offense missed several big play opportunities.

No way we jump 8 spots.  Jumping 6 spots would be a surprise.

If K-State beat #7 Texas, Mich. State beat #9 Wisconsin, and #6 Cal beat #11 Oregon.  We will jump those teams. So you have WVU, Texas, Oregon, and Wisconsin droping out of the top 10. I hope they wouldn't put a one lose team in front of us.

Unfortunately, the voters saw sloppy play by both teams.  The defense put forth a stellar effort, but we sputtered on offense.  A win is a win, but I think we only move up 3-4 spots.

Let's be realistic... there are a lot of good teams ahead of us.  BullDozier1 lists the possible upsets... but review the rest Top 17... (besides WVU)...

#1 USC at Washington.  The talent on the Trojans will overpower the Huskies.

#2 LSU at Tulane.  Um. Yeah.  Technically the Green Wave is the home team.  By halftime the Tigers will be looking ahead to the Gators game next week.

#3 Oklahoma at Colorado.  The Sooners will lower the boom on the Buffs -- assuming they don't look ahead to Bedlam against Texas next week.

Auburn at #4 Florida.  The Tigers will slow down the Gator offense... but not enough to win in Gainesville.  That is, unless the Gators are thinking about the other Tigers (LSU) next week.

#6 Cal at #11 Oregon.  This is the first game where I think a Top 10 team has a real chance to lose the game.  The Ducks are going to be pumped, if they can stop the Bears' DeSean Jackson.  Cal hasn't won at Oregon in 20 years.

Kansas State at #7 Texas.  Sure, the Wildcats won the game last year, and played Auburn tough in their first game.  But the Longhorns are at home and want some revenge.  The only saving grace could be a Texas team who hasn't really shone and might be thinking of the OU game next week.

#8 Ohio State at Minnesota.  The Gophers lost to FAU last week, that fact should show how big the Buckeyes will win today.

Michigan State at #9 Wisconsin.  Another possible upset here... The Badgers haven't looked great this ear, and if the Spartans can capitalize they could win.

Maryland at #10 Rutgers.  The Terps looked shell shocked against Wake Forest last week.  Rice and the Scarlet Knights should run roughshod all over them.

Massachusetts at #12 Boston College.  Could U Mass be another App State?  The Minutemen are #2 in the FCS poll... but the Eagles will be too tough.

#13 Clemson at Georgia Tech.  The Yellow Jackets are looking to turn their season around.  The Tigers have only played one strong team, and that was in week one.  Possible upset here.

Florida Atlantic at #14 Kentucky.  This will be an aerial war -- and the Owls have an opportunistic defense.  It won't be easy, but I think Kentucky wins.  Possible trap game, tho, with a trip to South Carolina next week for the Wildcats.

Ole Miss at #15 Georgia.  The Rebels played the Gators tough last week, but that was at home.  Now they play the Bulldogs between the hedges.  UGA won at Bama last week, this game should be easier.  Again, tho, there are a lot of trap games in the SEC: UGA travels to Rocky Top next week.

Mississippi State at #16 South Carolina.  Steve Spurrier wants an SEC title for the Gamecocks, and they can still get there.  The Bulldogs won on the road last week, and could do it again.

North Carolina at #17 Virginia Tech.  We saw what the Tar Heels could do last week.  Two words: not much.  The Hokies are 0-1 against BCS teams, but UNC is barely a BCS team.

So... #18 USF's win over #5 WVU will move us up... but I can't see us higher than 11 or 12... leap over a couple of losers... and some lack-luster winners...

BUT NEXT WEEK... LSU-Florida, Oklahoma-Texas, Kentucky-South Carolina, Ohio State-Purdue, Rutgers-Cincinnati, Clemson-Virginia Tech... lots of losers for USF to jump over.  After a win over FAU, the Bulls will be at least #10 if not #8 in the country.

Last year when Rutgers beat Louisville they jumped from 15 to 6 in the BCS rankings. I think they were 7 in the AP. They jumped 8-9 spots in those polls respectively.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
