Hey, they have to boil for 5 hours. I have to start now if I want to be in the Mall lot at 1!

Who else will be out there that early?

GO BULLS! FINISH STRONG!

5 hours?  that seems like a long time.  Did you make those from scratch?

If you want to stop by, I'll let you taste one.  ;D

Boil for five, then grill... They have a nice outer layer from grilling which gives them some firmness and the boiling makes them so tender on the inside that they just fall apart in your mouth. YOU KNOW YOU LIKE MY SAUSAGE.

No self-respecting tailgater would use instant brats.  He obviously takes pride in his brats!

i understand that concept, but cooking any meet to an internal temp of 212 seems like it would overcook them... but hey, if it works, can't argue with that.

(ps... do instant brats come in a box... like potato buds?  ;) )

Oh it definitely works -- it has been a trial and error process to create the perfect brat over the last 10 years of Bulls Football.

My brats and the tailgating have come a long way. I remember when I would be an oddball for being out there and tailgating at all. I'm sure you guys remember this too.

(if they did, I could use something like that.... instant sober-up mix, just add water)

LOL... we've come a long way.

Hopefully i can survive today on adrenaline... 2 hours sleep is all I could muster.

I felt like I was on caffeine pills... eyes kept popping open involuntarily all night.

Yeah, I didn't sleep much either. I don't think we will have a problem in that department. Especially once we see the lights. HEY MAN, WE'RE GOING TO SEE THE YANKEES!!!!!  ::) ;D

Oh, I should say - one of the reasons for boiling that long is so they can absorb the flavor of the veggies and stuff that... Then I use that stuff as a topping later.

I put the butts on the smoker last night at 6:00. They'll be done at noon. Pull and mix in the secret finishing sauce, and be in line when the gates open at 3:00.  Home made sangria is mixed and chilled and the beer is on ice.

If you're in lot #6 this afternoon, stop by and say hi!

Hey! NoBullaboutit, I expect to see you guys over there today!

GO BULLS!

FINISH STRONG
