USF Park Downtown Tampa!

I don't go downtown much, but drove through it today while getting on 275 and noticed that in the area near where Trump Tower was allegedly supposed to go, there is a University of South Florida Park (or something similar), complete with banners similar to those along Fowler.

Is this old news? Does anyone have the scoop?

thats been there for about 5 years. I was on the planning committee with SG for it. It looks ok but the initial plans were AMAZING. I am not sure if the city plans any more construction on that part of what will be the riverwalk. I believe that the website for the river walk is tampariverwalk.net or something like that. I think that somewhere in the site (it is very poorly designed) you can post comments to existing parts of the riverwalk and also make suggestions/volunteer/apply to serve on a committee, etc. Anyway - its going to be very pretty when the whole thing is finished in a few years and USF will have a prominent part within it!

it's been there for a while, they had a dedication ceremony and everything.  I walk past it every Lightning home game, haven't really seen much work done on it recently, I was under the impression it was done.  If I had a digital camera, I'd post some pics.

In other USF near downtown news, the new USF Health builiding on Davis Islands looks really impressive, one of the first things you see driving over the bridge.

University of South Florida Park on the Riverwalk

South of the Crosstown Expressway and north of the Platt St. bridge, the city's latest segment of the Riverwalk is a park dedicated to the contributions of the University of South Florida to our community.
