For steak: Best bang for the buck is Charley's (ask to see the tray of steaks, they usually have items not on the menu like a great ribeye).  Shula's is good, Flemings is up there.  Not a big Capital Grille fan, more so because I like Charley's and it's about $20 a steak cheaper.  Ruth's Chris is okay.  Bern's way over hyped.

From my understanding it is. But, I hear that second hand. Apparently the one in lakeland burned down and the original owner still owns the one by campus... something like that. I don't know. I just know it's a great place and great food.

The CDB's in Lakeland opened back up.  I think it may be better now than before the fire.  I eat there for lunch once in a while.

LOVE the Eddie & Sams reference...FANTASTIC NY Style Pizza (has to be the best cheese on any pizza in the area), the dough is incredible too (they actually use NYC water that is shipped down)...and all of their other entrees are great too...When I used to work downtown, I'd get 2 pepp slices everyday, love it.

From someone who grew up in Brooklyn trust me when I say Eddie and Sams is the real deal. If you want an authentic slice of NY pizza in Tampa it is the only place to go. We go every time we are back in town. The calzones and chicken parm roll (bubba roll) are phenomonal as well.

The bottled water they import is actually from upsate NY but then again that's where NYC gets its water supply from.

**** I'm hungry just thinking about the place. Used to drive from ray jay in st pete just for lunch back in the day.
