CRBULL Posted September 16, 2007 Group: Member Topic Count: 0 Content Count: 431 Reputation: 35 Days Won: 0 Joined: 09/11/2006 Share Posted September 16, 2007 I'm surprised no one has brought this up since our AU win and then the AU loss yesterday. Our O-Line struggled to open holes for the running game against AU. At the time I was thinking it's Auburn and we're doing the best we can. However, Miss State was able to open up some big holes for their run.Does this seem like a concern to anyone else?

Wouldn't it make it desirable to switch to options/screen passes if the line is not up to opening up the middle?

KSU had ony 27 yards on the ground the week before. MSU only had 41 yards passing. We went into that game with our Freshmen RBs as the focus in only their 2nd game. We were quite a bit more balanced. We really weren't able to put a hell of a lot more yards up. We started in their territory a lot of times. We didn't have far to go. yes, we need work in the red zone though. Plus, don't forget we were missing a couple of our starters and most of the guiys on the line had been injured at some point within the last couple of weeks. i think this 2 week layoff will do wondrs for the OL. No concerns.

I think our O-line wasn't great, but they got the job done. Get em healthy and watch them improve throughout the season.

Mike Ford missed a block on the safety during the goal line option and Cedric Hill failed to completely block Groves with lead to a sack. So it is not all on the offensive line. WRs, TEs and RBs have to block too and that does not mean just getting in the way.
