Don't believe in moral victories...but props to them. Great showing against a great opponent.

One thing that I just didn't get...maybe someone else can explain it to me. There was like 3 minutes left...they were down by 11...and they elected to punt. I realize they were deep in their own territory...but had there not been an ill-timed fumble on the ensuing Longhon posession....it would have been a coaching decision that "conceded defeat". Even the announcers made mention.

Good for them though with the way it all turned out. Now hopefully we won't have to hear about them until gameweek  :)

In regards to that punt...UCF's long-passing game was basically non-existent...so yeah...hoping for a UT fumble was probably higher odds than UCF making it on 4th and 15 or 16 from UCF's own 12 yd line.

Hey...it WORKED! UT fumbled...UCF scored a TD and a 2 pt conversion...but obviously didn't recover the onside kick.

Oh well...long, LONG 14 hour but rememberable day.

I also want to give Congrats to UCF for battling against Texas. I felt UCF was cheated early in the game when Texas went to kick for their 1st FG and the play clock ran out but no penalty. That was some ******** and the difference in the game.

Did you miss the first play of the game? UCiF got lucky that referees didn't mark the ball down on the 1 yard line when they took a knee in the endzone while touching the line.

Now I don't know if the ball broke the plane or not, but IF it did, wouldn't that have been a safety and not down on the one yard line?  He went into the field of play and then retreated to the endzone where it was downed.  I am not sure if they would say "forward progress" was stopped on the one or not.

Guess it doesn't matter, but just my 2 cents....

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

Valiant efforts are for losers, moral victories are for losers. That’s what losers say. Winners win.
