its actually tomorrow...and ranking high school teams on a national level is just stupid.

part of the reason these teams are #1 and #2 is because they play each other in a game that ESPN networks are covering.

Ranking thousands of teams in one poll is impossible... The reason that 1-A ranks teams is that there's less than 150 of them.

Northwestern won 29-21.

My favorite stat: they played the game at SMU's stadium in Dallas. The attendance was 31,896. When SMU hosted Texas Tech on Labor Day, it was supposed to be "the big game" for SMU, the one that would be a springboard for their program. The attendance was 26,969.

I played against Northwestern back in the day in a neutral stadium (most stadiums in Miami are neutral) and also wrestled against them. I have never been so **** scared as when we drove to their campus in the middle of Liberty City to wrestle. The fact that these kids make it out of that hell hole speaks volumes about them.

I did see how 3 of their best players already committed to the Canes; Shannon will get the talent form his old neighborhood and the Canes will rise again.

The Texas team plays in the Cowboys stadium sometimes and has such a nice indoor practice facility that the Cowboys use it sometimes. That is one wealthy HS.

What a difference in two schools.

Southlake is an obscenely wealthy suburb northwest of Dallas and northeast of Fort Worth. It's like the Beverly Hills of Texas, right down to the lily-white population, the plastic surgery, and the looks down their nose at anyone who isn't a millionaire. Dallas has a monthly magazine called D Magazine, and this month's cover had a picture of their athletes and it said, "Why You Should Hate Southlake." The consensus reaction was that everyone already did.
