That was a darn good article, it really captured the spirit of what it means for schools to go from non-bcs status to bcs status.

i got a question about this article. it states that we are named south florida because central florida was already taken. i thought ucf was founded after us and called ftu at first. was there a separate school named ucf before they took that name?

I think that part is incorrect--UCF was founded after us, and did begin as FTU. we were named USF because at the time, we were the farthest south of the state schools in Florida.
