Hey everyone, I'd love to hear how the various watch parties went over the weekend.  I receive a report from the Brandon O'Briens saying it was a great place to watch the game and the staff, food everything was great.  Not a huge crowd but it never is when they start.

Any other reports from other locations?

Eric

Was at the New Tampa Lee Roy Selmon's... I don't believe it was an official watch party but there was about 20 people there watching. Also, I believe I spotted Renu Khator sitting at a bar table as well.

The restaurant closed before the game was over and we were allowed to stay. My waitress also picked up my last beer... since it was my "victory beer." It was a good time.

Sadly, not too much to report from NC. With a few folks finking out and a few with legitimate troubles, our numbers were lower than expected. We had to chase some East Carolina fans out of the room reserved for us (because we were so few in number, I didn't press the issue too hard, and watched a few minutes without sound until we were prepared to move into our room) and even then a few in our party stayed out by the bar because they wanted to keep an eye on VT/LSU as well (the room in which we were put only had one screen, BULLS projected largely on the wall). Unbeknownst to me, our location was also the location of the Gator Alumni Association watch parties, so there was plenty of orange and blue in the place as the game began, but those that remained were for the most part Bulls supporters. Our numbers were small, but I had a great time watching a great game and got to meet USFKT and Harvey Glass, so thanks to the two of them for coming out.

Half the resturant was Bulls fans.

After the Gaytor game ended we were on the big screen.

Good atmosphere.

Chicago was a blast! There was 10 of us for our first ever watch party. We had the same issue as the NC watch party in that we were moved to a section of the bar where the ecu/unc game was on and they had the sound for that game on after ours finally came on (thought the uga game would never end)

I complained to the guy and he said they have been a unc bar for yrs and the game only had 55 seconds left. True to his word he got the sound on and the game on a bunch more tv's also gave us a bunch of free shots for our patience.

After that all went well and we still had some bitter unc fans near us one who said they were going to root for us tonight but kick our ass in a few weeks...just laughed at him and said sure just like you did last year..:he  quickly shut up.

After that it was all Bulls in our section and most LSU fans were pulling for us as well. Also recruited a la tech graduate who was sad they lost to hawaii but began cheering with us because how can anyone not root for the Bulls!

We were up and down just like everyone else in the 2nd half.

We went nuts when we won and ordered too many jager bombs for the celebration.

I had 3 of them because we ordered too many..thank goodness for cabs in Chicago!!!

Sounds like a great time... I'm glad we are now in the mix with other fans. Sounds like they don't mind making room for us either!

Go Bulls!

Capogna's had a fair showing of about 50.  That's pretty good since most of that crowd was AT the game and it starting so late.  (A normal watch party size would be 75-150.)  The bar side normally closes at 11pm on Saturdays, but stayed open until about 1:15am.  WAY TO GO CAPOGNA'S!!!  Also, thanks to Brenda and Joe Kenny for heading it up this time!!

Brenda and Joe did an awesome job!  The servers at Capogna's were most gracious (they are consistently great).  The turnout was good considering that most of the regulars were witnessing the historic performance in person.  I got a chance to meet some new friends and Bulls supporters.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
