Others Receiving Votes

South Florida 220, Missouri 144, Alabama 116, Washington 95, TCU 66, Arizona State 28, Auburn 23, Appalachian State 19, Cincinnati 12, Florida State 2, Iowa 1, Kansas 1, Purdue 1.

Dropped From Rankings

Auburn 17, TCU 19, Boise State 22.

If you look at it we BARELY didn't make it into this poll, and we aren't too far behind #22 Tenn.  All we need is either one more win, or one team to lose.

We could conceivably back in during our bye week with a loss to those just above us, Tennessee losing to UF or BC losing to GT are probably the most likely.

while it is an absolute joke that USF is not ranked this week...  it is somewhat comforting knowing USF will be ranked next week because UT is probably going to get clobbered by UF this week

Don't laugh, the whole "you can vote for Appalachian State" bit might have kept USF out of the top 25.

At least this poll is more realistic than the coaches poll. No one who watched the Texas A&M game (including me) would have even kept them at #23, let alone moved them up five spots like the coaches did. And Hawaii only won because Louisiana Tech's coach lost his mind and went for two at the end of the first overtime, instead of kicking the PAT and keeping the game going.

I guarantee you USF cracks the polls next week. There's no way Tennessee is going to win at Florida.

Well, just like the Coaches poll, USF's votes and ranking in the AP Poll are the most ever at 220 and #26. USF also received more votes in this AP Poll, than in every other AP Poll combined!

BTW,

FSU 2 votes in AP, none in Coaches

Miami 3 votes in Coaches, none in AP

In the AP poll we are barely behind Texas A&M and Hawaii, and all 3 of us went into OT.  We went to OT with Auburn, they went to OT with La Tech and Fresno...hum...

Maybe we won too late.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
