Once he takes that weighting out (usually around week 4), then it becomes a true statistical analysis of performance for the current season. USF is ranked NUMBER FIVE...

Six Pac-10 teams in the top 20 is laughableWhatever HE did? Whatever ALL of them do. That is a huge flaw of college football...preseason rankings. They go by what they 'think' is going to happen and it's never truly the case. A team that starts in the teens may not even get a shot at the NC even if they run the table, and then you have teams like Michigan starting at #5 and having total implosions. It's a joke. Preseason rankings get people all fired up, sell tickets, etc. but realistically rankings shouldn't come out until after a couple/few games. The media wants so badly to have some teams in the rankings (Notre Dame) they'd do almost anything for them to be there even when they aren't any good. BTW, first time EVER that UM and ND are 0 - 2 to start the season. Think about that...lot of football years...and first time. But, if Notre Dame went on say a 5-game win streak they'd do everything they could to get them back in the Top 25. Auburn, TCU, and Boise State most likely drop out of the Top 25 this week. Not exactly sure how all of it goes, but thinking a win AT Auburn with a national audience can't hurt their chances for getting voted into it. If not this week, they could actually get into it next week by default of having teams lose while they sit idle. Either way, it was a not-so-pretty, but INCREDIBLE victory for the Bulls. USF will probably be ranked now, which is a good thing. However, would anyone here honestly put USC ahead of LSU or even Oklahoma if they didn't start there? I don't think so. Rankings should be allowed some flexibility for equal record teams...especially if the one behind is playing much better than the one in front. With so many teams you have to start ranking early...everyone knows its no going to be real until a few weeks into the season. As far a team no ranked high early in the season not being able to win it all, that doesnt bother me. It means you have to a good team for a few years in order to win it.

Now you simply say they just must have been bad because USF beat them and K-State took their best shot and got close. You never post anything anymore besides an occasional negative comment.
