Despite being out-shot 13-7 in the match, with seven of USC's shots on target compared to four for USF, the Bulls made the most of their opportunities in overcoming the first ranked opponent they have faced this year. USF handed the Gamecocks (2-1-0) their first defeat on goals by senior Simon Schoendorf and freshman Tony Taylor in the first half. Just three minutes into the match, junior Jordan Seabrook fed Schoendorf on a pass that the senior from Karlsruhe, Germany, put to the back of the net for his first goal of the season. Newcomer Taylor followed with his second goal of the year 33 minutes later on an unassisted shot to beat USC keeper Jimmy Maurer. From there, the USF defense and another great effort from USF keeper Diego Restrepo took over. Restrepo recorded seven saves in the match and notched his third consecutive shutout. Seabrook and midfielder Francisco Aristeguieta recorded the other shots on goal for USF. After scoring the game winner in last night's contest against FIU, junior midfielder Kevon Neaves saw his consecutive points streak stopped as he was kept at bay despite 90 minutes of playing time. The Bulls will look to continue their winning ways as they return to the USF Soccer Stadium to take on American University on Sat., Sept. 15 at 7:30 p.m.
