Brett McMurphy's Pick

He's picking Auburn to win by a count of 28-10.

He's basing that almost exlusively on atmosphere @ Jordan-Hare.

We'll see.  I hope he's wrong.

If the Bulls will stay cool, that game is every bit as much theirs for the taking as it is Auburn's.  Mentality is the key, though.  I do agree with that.

The Montgomery paper predicts a 17-13 USF victory.  Hope the team doesn't read that when they wake up.  Along with the B-ham paper prediction, I'd say we are getting more respect in the Alabama media than in Florida's.

why is mcmurphy still a usf beat writer? he is probably one of the worst beat writers of all sports. i respect him picking auburn to win, but to pick them to win 28-10 is a joke

I forgot. To be a beat writer you have to believe the team you write for will win every game...

It happens all the time to other schools/beat writers do the same thing.

He backed up his reasons, and I'd rather his give his honest opinion(what he's paid to do) rather than sit here and make something up so some of our fans will be content. Predictions mean **** other than opinionated remarks. ..

I don't like the guy and probably never will, but this is going to be a tough test for us. Our history with SEC teams is not good, so he isn't going too far off base with the pick. I think Auburn will have a tough time scoring, as we may as well.

Because the good majority of the state of Alabama are Crimson Tide fans.

And your point is what? Of course there are going to be a good deal of Auburn around there today since they are playing at home. The majority of that state roots for Alabama. Those fans are probably up in Nashville or inside watching their game right now.

Despite him picking Auburn, I really don't care but he really isn't the real USF beat writer. That distinguished honor goes to Greg Auman. Greg actually covers USF, and knows the real deal. Mcmurphy is bandwagon jumper.
