Greg has the news in his blog...

Winter Springs punter is Bulls' 8th commitment

Winter Springs punter Justin Brockhaus-Kann got the letter he'd been hoping for in Wednesday's mail, and that was all he needed to call USF coach Jim Leavitt with his response: "I want to be a Bull."

...

He's trained with coach Mike McCabe of One on One Kicking, who said Brockhaus-Kann is one of the top five high school punters in the country. "There's no question," said McCabe, and once he gets down to a target weight of 220 pounds, "he'll murder the ball."

That's very good news. It's disappointing to see Teachey and that ridiculous rugby style as the sole answer to our punting situation this year. Hard for me to believe we're the smartest guys in the nation by using that rugby style.  Good coaching will have two guys back and fair catching those things all day for 30 yard punts the whole year. Ugh...

Hope this kid will be the next Brandon Baker for us and signal the end of the rugby punt garbage that we run now.

Pitt tried that last year and Teachey took off twice for 1st downs...not saying it will work everytime but it definitely got Pitt to drop that plan last year.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
