I love the T formation with Ford, Williams and Taylor. You can many things in short yardage or goal line situations.

You'd have to figure that Ford will be the #1 guy now and he should be seeing the ball a good deal against Auburn.

This kid needs to start and we need to feed him the ball.

Unfortunately I was out of town last night and didn't get to see the game. Did Mike or Jamar miss any blocks that got Grothe hit? Everyone keeps saying that Ben Williams is sooooo much better of a blocking back than these other guys. He is a great blocking back, but that doesn't mean the other guys aren't. I like Ben a lot, and he should definately continue to be a part of this offense, but from that highlight video, it looks like Mike Ford is the guy that can make some good things happen for this team.

On a side note, if Ben was more of a big play running threat, you wouldn't need him to block as much because the defense couldn't sell out to get to Grothe on the play action.

No, i don't believe so.  I believe both did a good job in that category.  Moreso with Taylor since he was in on more passing downs.

Your gonna hear this from me all season long, Mike Ford went to my high school, GO SAILORS, one of the best RBs to ever come out of high school in florida. At games people would  always chant "Built Ford Tough, Built Ford Tough". He was a cool guy to, he was never in class though. i would always see him just walking around school, thats probably why he didnt go to Bama.

Hey buddy, screw the Sailors

Go Rams!!!

Haha

But a good chant for him would be

Who? Mike Ford.

Kind of a spin off of "Who? Mike Jones."

For those of you who understand it.

we will need several backs but I was most impressed with Ford

Williams is solid

Taylor just looks so smooth running the ball

and we haven't really gotten to see what Samuels or Plancher are capable of-- it is a good problem to have.

We can truly have a balanced attack now-- just like WVU or UL. Another Beast in the Big East

Don't know if anyone else was around to see this but after the game when the players walked by the student section where we were congratulating them on their way back to the locker room. This little kid standing next to me (no more than 5 or 6 years old) asked if he could have a glove but none of the players heard him until Ford walked by and he stopped and gave the kid one of his gloves.

Just thought I'd share cause I thought that was cool of him.

I wonder if he knew that was a ritual with Andre .... although, he gave them to the kids behind the bench, I believe.

Hearing this young man talk is a pleasant reminder of the type of guys we recruit.

"yes sir" is heard many times. Glad he's a BULL.

And didn't think about it until I read Greg's blog, but he has 18 points - 2 by land and 1 by air.

Go BULLS !!!

I might be in the minority, but I think Ben Williams should start versus Auburn.  Sure Ford will ultimitely win the job and maybe even by the UNC or WVU game, but Ben Williams has improved.  His stats weren't as gaudy as Ford's, but still very solid, 9 carries for 51 yards.  Start Williams, but play Ford alot.

I hadn't seen anyone post about this yet, but JoeB is right.  Ben Williams is MUCH improved this year - the coaches weren't just blowing smoke.  I think Ben should start, but Ford needs to get 20 carries.  It looks like he is a special player and he simply has to get enough touches, but Ben deserves PT also.  Give Williams and Taylor about 6 carries each.  I wouldn't play any more than 3 backs though.  Not sure what to do with Samuels and Plancher?
