Saw this on another board:

Tailback Steve Slaton “tweaked an ankle,†according to head coach Rich Rodriguez, but completed nearly every drill until the last 20 minutes. Slaton appeared fine in the post-workout interviews and he is expected to fully recover within 48 hours. The injury comes two days after starting quarterback Patrick White suffered a back injury. Neither player ran on the first day of drills, as the coaching staff allowed the duo to ease into the practices while focusing on the newcomers.

Then I saw a fan posting the following:

Pat WHite 'tweaked' his back and Slaton 'sprained' his ankle, and Wes Lyons is still nursing a sore/sprained knee.

They say these 'injuries' are nothing to worry about...but I heard that crap last year, and those nothing to worry about injuries never did heal up, so excuse me for worrying anyway.

You tweak your back and sprain an ankle with nothing but shorts and pads on, no real hitting, no real pressure coming at ya.

Now I have to ask....just exactly what kind of 'conditioning' did these guys do during the off season???

Doesn't sound like they did much if you ask me.

Perhaps they should have worried about conditioning rather then a friggin blog for ESPN. Not sure...but doesn't sound like the kind of dedication and work ethic one expects for a team with such high aspirations.

Are they getting too cocky, too sure of themselves???

I'm feeling like a 7-4 season now.

Perhaps that 24th ranking could be too high???

Oh woes me....

Still early to worry about injuries of this nature affecting a season, but like the WVU fan said "but I heard that crap last year, and those nothing to worry about injuries never did heal up, so excuse me for worrying anyway".  Don't forget we get a pretty early game against them.

that will be brought up all season long everytime they lose. "you only beat us because Slaton and White are injured!!"blah blah blah....let them play the first half of the season with all walk-on RB's before they complain of injuries.
