You can ave the old clubhouse cancer.  Lets hope he hits as well in the AL as he did in the NL.

Steve

When you say George will not be outdone by the sox you mean that any move the sox make he will try to make one twice as spectacular. The thing is that every team knows this and rip Georges teeth out in trades cuz they know if he wants a guy he will do anything to get him.  The Sox know this and when their spies see a player George covets they go out and try and raise the guys asking price trifold and it works.  The Yankmees try and do the same but it rarely works. When the season ended the Yanks talked up signing Todd Walker presumably since they thought Sox wanted him back bigtime but sox didnt want him back and all of a sudden Yanks never really did want him.

I hardly think Sheffield and Gordon are some type of saviors for the Yanks... both are good players, but that is the same as saying Manny Ramirez is the glue that holds together the sox.  He's a great hitter... but i'd take many players over him, or sheffield.

Two words, Javier Vazquez.  VG you may be rught about Sheff and Gordon, but you have to admit that Vazquez was a huge pick up.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”

    Michael Kelly
