I see Mac being let go.

It seems odd that if you were going to let a guy go you wouldnt allow him to hang out in the wind and go on recruiting trips around the state.

You would think that if you are going to fire someone, you would just make the move come monday morning.

I have to agree somewhat with Greg Aumans blog.

It just doesn't make much professional sense to bring the guy in on Thursday and let him go.

Either Woolard believes in Mac or the financials are preventing him from making the move.

You can make the same argument the other way.  If he was going to stay why string him along and make him wait and wonder (along with the fans) if its a financial issue then thats not a new issue with Woolard as they have known what they have and what they can spend for some time now, so if they were basing the decision on their finances or lack there of then why not say he's our guy.

It doesn't make much sense to let a guy go on recruiting trips if you plan on keeping him around and not letting him know.  It would be better for Mac to be able to tell these kids "Yes, I'll be here at least through next year" than "I don't know if I have a job or not"

I'm starting to think Woolard really hasn't made up his mind yet.  Which means he is in a tough spot, either decision can either be genius or folly depending on how next year turns out

Yeah -- I think it's just odd that nothing has been said.

He had to know where he stood before the Depaul game.

Just seems wierd to sit and wait.

I think Coach McCullum will return as well. The financial situation was known long before hand, so that couldn't be what is weighing on the mind of DW. As Greg stated in his blog, DW knows the game pretty well, so he may see things differently then we do.

It doesn't make any sense.

I heard the whole "Big East Meetings" stuff, but this is a major move.  He had to be thinking about this for a few weeks leading up to the end of the season.

Makes zero sense.

But then again, as wildroover said - wouldn't he want to confirm Mac's future so that he could be more effective on the recruiting trail.?

Doubtful...it makes for a great story if RMc is retained.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
