USF event to honor Camon Friday

A gathering to honor former University of South Florida defensive back Javan Camon will be held Friday from 5-7 p.m. in the Big East room of the school’s athletic facility. The function is open to USF fans and current and former USF players. Highlights from Camon’s career will be shown.

Camon, 25, died Monday night playing for the Daytona Beach Thunder of the World Indoor Football League. Individuals who are interested may bring items that will be passed along to Camon’s mother.

A memorial service will be held Thursday from 4-6 p.m. in Ormand Beach at the Lohman Funeral Home, 733 W. Granada Blvd. For more information on the memorial service, go to this link.
