Capacity of the Red?

Does anyone know?  I'm guessing somewhere in the 1200 range.  I'm sure tomorrow's game will be announced as a sellout crowd, but I was just wondering what what they consider a true sellout at capacity.

From what I heard today, I believe there is ~850 in general seating, and 1000+ are expected down the first base line and elsewhere. Should be interesting...

So they are expecting around 1800?  Wow, there will be alot of people standing.  Might want to get there early for a seat on the USF side (3b dugout).

Actually, the gentleman I heard (from marketing and event mgmt I believe) threw out the number 2300. :shrugs: I know I get a seat at least!

According to the Media Guide at GoUSFBulls.com ... the capacity of McEwen Field is 1,500.

I wonder if that takes in to account the bleachers that were removed before the season began, and/or standing room now available.

Back in the '80's (b4 they had the cover over the fence and you could see in) the gaytors came here and there were people 3-5 deep standing all the way around the fence.

A free heads up to everyone:

Get to the Red early tomorrow!  The enthusiasm and excitement for our nationally-ranked team has really gotten big, and yes we needed to remove some seating during the off-season.  If you want a seat, get there early!

Gates open at 5pm.  The Red is going to be rocking and rolling tomororw, and I think this is going to be the start of something big here.

I think building up and leveing the hills in left field would provide a great scenic value to watching games... I've noticed people out there Fri/Sat night.

I remember looking out there at one point and seeing a 2-3 foot flame glowing from behind the fence. Classic.

Do they sit on that big dirt mound?  It would be a great vantage point from the bleachers in left.  Also some more bench seating above the home dugout would be a good touch.
