They tried to go after Tom Gordon, but he signed with the Yanks, cuz they offered more money. I think the Rays offered him a 3 year deal and the Yanks 2 year deal. There is talk now they'll go after Carl Evertt who is one of the Tampa guys available.

I do like the addition on Tino Martinez.  Hopefully they can land a decent pitcher in the off season though.

So the pendulum is swinging back the other way...they already tried the free-agent route and didn't accomplish anything. Then they went "youth movement" and basically said "we suck, there's no reason to come out unless you want to watch the visiting team" and now we're back looking at players who will whore themselves out to the highest bidder.

So, which team will it be this year...

Rays need to get a new GM, the one they have has screwed them repeatedly over the years.
