Here is what I wanted to add to the discussion:From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Papajohns.com_BowlThe Big East and Mid-American conferences will provide a team in alternating years with the MAC supplying the 2007 participant. In the event that a qualifying team cannot be provided, either an Big East or an at-large team will be selected instead. So this means that unless the MAC cannot field at least one team with a .500 record or better, we are not going back to Birmingham.Still, the MCCB was awesome the first year and Charlotte was great. I'd love to go back there if we don't make it as far as I think we can.

We lose teh Texas Bowl for one year, I hope to hell they didn't drop the PJB because we'd be looking at meek numbers. This is the current lineup (assuming wiki is wrong):1) BCS2) Gator/Sun3) Meineke 4) Birmingham5) International

However, Wiki has a definite answer about the PJB. The Texas Bowl, on the other hand:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_BowlThe Big 12, Big East and Conference USA will be affiliated with the game, as well as Texas Christian University of the Mountain West. The 2006 matchup will feature teams from the Big 12 and Big East Conferences. Specific information regarding conference selection order will be released at a later date. The above quote was taken directly from http://www.houstontexans.com/news/detail.php?PRKey=2736So, as it stands now, we're probably looking at a possible return to Texas and not Birmingham.

We get it back in 2008, then CUSA gets it again in 2009.
