Matt Posted December 16, 2006 Group: Member Topic Count: 723 Content Count: 12,293 Reputation: 64 Days Won: 0 Joined: 10/01/2003 Author Posted December 16, 2006 his size and speed make him a prospect.however, i think he would improve his situation if he waited 1 more year.its a huge risk going out early that could cost you a lot of money.if he does go, and does get drafted it would be in the late rounds, 2nd day pick. his chances of making the team out of training camp would be harder, and his rookie contract wouldnt be as nice as it would if he went 1st day.another thing to consider is if you go out early and get cut then your career is in a major uphill battle. its a lot of practice squads and hoping the opportunity comes along.i think mike will stay, it might be one of those moves just to get his name out among the scouts a little more and then with a strong senior year and a 1st team all big east spot he will end up going in the top 3 rounds for sure.

First, as everyone points out, it is likely that NFL scouts will tell Mike to stay until next year. Second, this is a great recruiting tool on two fronts...our coaches can say to any stud CBs we might still be after, look we may have an opening this fall, and look this staff develops NFL caliber defensive backs. Yep, I like it. And if Mike goes through with the draft, I will root him on on draft day and in the NFL. I have faith in Jerome Murphy and Tyller Roberts.Normal
