Carlton Hill & Donte Spires

Watching the Junior College National Championship game today.  Pearl River is playing Blinn College.

I've been watching Carlton Hill (starting QB) and Donte Spires (starting OLB) for Pearl River, both of whom have USF connections (though I still doubt Hill will be back at USF).  

Spires looks pretty good, though a little smaller and shorter than I thought he would be.  He moves around pretty well and seems to have pretty good instincts.

Hill still looks athletic, but he looks as undisciplined as ever!  Fumbles, poor timing on screen plays, takes sacks, and lobs the ball over the middle sometimes.  I'm thinking about how his demise at USF has helped us since we may never have discovered how good Grothe is.

In my opinion, even if he does come back to USF, he should not try to come back as a QB....he'll never beat out #8.

Hill threw a very bad INT, and he has taken another couple of sacks.

He's a head case.

I wonder if Hill would even want to come back as a backup.  He does have great athletic ability.  Maybe he could come back as a WR.

I thoguht I read on this forum that Hill was likely to come back here...I wouldnt mind it considering he could be backup or switch positions.  I like all the WRs we have or might have that have played QB.

usf needs to recruit real wrs that understand the improtance of route running and the importance of body position,catching the ball,holding on to the ball
