Guest Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 lowering some pricing wouldnt hurt....A.M.E.N.It will take a lot to get someone like me to come out to watch ANY basketball game. However, for USF I will come out if it is either affordable OR to see a good product. Right now, it's neither. Now the women's team on the other hand... I will probably come check them out against Big East teams... they are both affordable AND a good product.

What if you lower the prices and still don't get more people? Then you just lose revenue. Hell, student tickets are free and the arena is on campus and they still don't go to the games.

I would suspect the big things that go into the attendance function would be 1) Is it on TV2) Is the opp. a ranked team3) Famous team (i.e. Notre Dame)4) Is it a conference game5) In state opp.I would also guess that you could put a "winning percentage" of the previous 5-8 games so as to capture the "winning team" theory.I have data on it.. maybe I'll calculate it and report back to everyone.

Say we get an extra 700 fans a night because we drop prices from 25 to 15Paying fans (not students)2500 * 25 = 625003200 * 15 = 48000The reason I ask is because you're the expert (it's in your name!) in this area. I am counting on my basic economics (and a ticket internship with an Arena League team I had once)

They've made it to the NCAA tournament...what...1 time in the last few decades? Winning brings fans. Plain and simple.
