Big East players of the year

University of South Florida freshman QB Matt Grothe was voted the Big East’s rookie of the year and USF senior Ean Randolph was named Special Teams Player of the Year, while Randolph, linebacker Stephen Nicholas and cornerback Trae Williams were named first-team All-Big East by the league’s eight coaches as part of the All-Big East teams released today by the league office.

No USF players were named to the league’s second-team.

Other Big East awards: West Virginia’s Pat White (Offensive Player of Year), Pittsburgh’s H.B. Blades (Defensive Player of Year) and Rutgers’ Greg Schiano (Coach of Year). Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own players. Here are the entire first and second Big East teams.

Remember it's coaches that vote for this list.  Some of these coaches have a hard time giving honors to USF for some reason, maybe it's losing to them that bugs the opposition.

For some reason the coaches in the BE hate giving USF to much credit and another example of getting slighted.
