Something doesn't add up.  I live in this area (Sarasota/Bradenton)  the local media are pretty good about supporting/reporting USF athletics.  They definately know of us.  What's with the Dec. 9th date?

guys, it's a joke.  lighten up.  it just simply means that USF is a newcomer to college football and that they can be confused with University of San Francisco

I have left a message for the sports editor.  This type of mistake could be made by a newspaper out west, however, for a local paper to make this type of mistake is moronic.

To the point it was an attempt at humor: Yeah, we certainly should rise up and call a halt to being the butt of the jokes for the local papers.  It's getting pretty old.  We wonder why the public doesn't embrace the team - well I have an idea why some of the newspaper-reading public might just think we're a joke outfit.

U of San Francisco dropped football in 1951
