I believe our program is in good enough shape that if we hired the right guy we would not lose a step. What kind of candidates would USF look at. If Big East coaches are leaving for the Big 10, ACC, & SEC does that mean that coaches in C-USA, MAC, and those type of conferences leave for the Big East?

Cord---- Has won national Championships, has been a canadate for a few head coaching jobs, the Miami D was good this year. However there is a good chance he wants the FIU job as his son coaches there. Mike Shula- Got canned way to early at Bama Chuck Amato- Recruiting ties in Florida are great.... had a few good seasons at NC State... dont really want him but he would be better than alot of coaches Gary Patterson at TCU--- wants a BCS gig has done a great job at TCU I dont think any of this matters because Jimbo is not leaving.... If he ever is to go now would be the time though

I think he's staying put and will say so very shortly.

I have the same opinion, but then I am still baffled as to why Spurrier would have ever left the gig he had in Gainesville. He was not only a king, but a god. Yet he left. Probably the worst decision of his career.

I am curious why spurrier didnt go back to UF when he had the chance, though.

There is no way any coach shooting for the big time is backing down from a job because "expectations are too high"All good coaches have big egos, while they will take into consideration that expectations might be tough, they believe they will win. If a guy like Schiano can turn around Rutgers, why the hell would he not believe he could win at a powerhouse like Miami?Quit with the expectations are too high, it's just searching for a reason not to take the job.Realistically USF has a chance to be a top program annually, we're in one of the best talent based regions in the country. We are in an area where it rarely drops below 50 during daytime hours.Rutgers, does not have that. It should not and will not schock me if Greg Schiano leaves this year, next year, or the year after. Ya, he's got it set at Rutgers, he made them win, he's king of that school right now. However, he's not turning Rutgers into a national power, the pieces are just not in place. No Tradition, small fan base, decent/not great recruiting base, etc. He's not going to stay at Rutgers because expectations are too high elsewhere...
