Okay you are marketing director what do you do?

Okay sports fans you are the boss of the marketing department for usf football.. How do you get the public to buy 5,000 plus tickets?

Here's my idea.   I say you take an ad (letter) out in both the times and tribune.   Basically you educate the ignorant masses and tell them if you want the local college football team in the big time you need to get off your ass and buy a ticket! The contents of the letter should say something like this:

Dear USF Fans,

         The Bulls have once again secured a bowl bid for this season.   The Papa John's Bowl located in Birmingham, Alabama is the destination and the date is December 23rd.   Tickets to the game are $30.00 and can be purchased by calling the number on the bottom of this letter.  We strongly encourage you that as a USF fan you make the effort to purchase tickets and attend the game.   This year's team provided much excitement to the area and its fans.  The Bulls will return 16 of their 22 starters next year and will use this bowl game to catapult themselves into the top 25 preseason rankings.  The Bulls realize that their growth for the future cannot be possible without the fans.   It is for this reason that we encourage fans once again to purchase tickets and attend the game.  If you cannot attend the game please consider purchasing tickets and either keep them as a sovenier or donating them to the USF student population.   In future years as the BULLS continue to get better they will garner national attention for their play on the field,   However ultimately they will be judged by how their fans buy/ and or attend bowl games.  Thank you for your support of the football program, look at how far we have come in 10 years!  Please support the bulls and call the number below and purchase the ticket(s) that will ultimately make OUR bulls nationally known!

It's the "PapaJohns.Com" Bowl... I realize this may be a difference without a distinction, but they are promoting the ability to order pizza online rather than over the phone...  Go figure.

They can easily tie that into ticket sales.  All tickets have a control number on them, and that could be used as a coupon on their website.  There are endless possibilities.

It is called an integrated marketing effort, T-Man.  When you're doing something with a cobranding entity, you use all possible marketing efforts.  Think outside the box a bit, buddy.
