I've been one of the people that has called for a replacement, but am uncertain whether that is necessary. If he shows consistent improvement that allows us to win the tough games, perhaps it would be worse to replace him. Who disagrees with that, and why.

I'm still not sold on Smith yet, but We have seen improvement for sure and, as he is still one of the youngest OCs and is still learing the position himself I'm now thinking he has earned another year. Jury is still out and I think he still gets outcoached by better defensive minded coaches, but he earned another year to keep growing.
