Rutgers and Louisville wins  what are the odds of both going to the BCS?

Off the top of my head, you'd want Florida to lose. It would also help if UCLA could beat USC as well. Louisville should be around 5 or 6 in the BCS come tomorrow. Wisconsin is a non factor. Louisville is going to have a tough time getting the at large away from LSU in my mind.

I think it's doable, if RU beats WVU.  It would be pretty hard for a 5th or 6th ranked UL to get passed over for a 2 loss team.  That would put us in Texas, which I would much rather see.  Against a Big 12 opponent.  Well, at least I hope that's how it works out.

so it basically comes down to LSU & Louisville for the at-large if Rutgers wins next wk, therefore no games will really impact whether or not UL gets that bid.

Correct that is how it would work out providing Houston bowl picked us over Cincy, not a guarantee but good odds in our favor.

Yes, LSU is the team that put a wrench in things yesterday. They travel well, so it would be tough to select Louisville over them.

The BCS will probably be:

1 Ohio State

2 USC

3 Michigan

4 Florida

5 Wisconsin

6 LSU

7 Louisville

8 Boise State

9 Notre Dame

10 Auburn

11 Oklahoma

12 Rutgers

Then this needs to happen:

1. The Rose Bowl is the one making the final at-large selection -- to replace either their Big 10 team (OSU-UM) or the Pac-10 team.

2. Hope for a UCLA win over USC. That puts USC in the Rose bowl.

3. Hope for a Florida win - an Arkansas win puts 2-loss Florida into the mix.  A 3-loss Arkansas is out of the running.

4. Lobby the Rose Bowl to take 1-loss Louisville over 2-loss LSU.  LSU fans travel VERY well, but so do Cardinal fans.  LSU just has a larger fan base.

That is what it comes down to: LSU or Louisville.  SEC or Big East.

I am wiling to bet that it is a very very long shot at this time.

Louisville is currently only .003 behind Wisconsin. The 3 teams ahead of that are WVU, Arkansas, and ND, who all lost, so Louisville should jump Wisconsin and hopefully the 3 teams that lost today.

Hold on.

I hadn't looked at that.

So, if they jump Wisconsin then a UF loss would put U of L at #4 in the country.  Then we need UM to be #2.  That would give U of L the bid automatically ahead of LSU -- if LSU doesn't jump over U of L this week.

Therefore...

Root for Rutgers, Louisville, UCLA and Arkansas.  If they all win, then the Big East gets two BCS bids.

If Louisville jumps Wisconsin and Florida loses to Arkansas, the Cardinals could get up to No. 4, securing an automatic spot. LSU again is the problem, though, as they'll likely jump the Cards this week. USC losing to UCLA presents the same possibility.

If Michigan is #4 then Louisville doesn't get the automatic bid at #4.  The selection process says that if #3 is a non-champion then they get it, if #4 is a non-champion and #3 was a champion, then #4 gets it.

So, to get the bid automatically the final BCS needs to end up:

1 OSU

2 UM

3 USC

4 U of L

That means LSU needs to be behind U of L this week and then U of L, RU, UCLA, and Arkansas win next week.  (If LSU jumps U of L and it's close, U of L could jump back with a BIG BIG win over U Conn - style points count).

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
