Moffitt, St. Louis Able To Practice For Bulls

Published: Nov 21, 2006

TAMPA - University of South Florida LBs Ben Moffitt and Patrick St. Louis, who missed part of last week's loss at Louisville with injuries, practiced Tuesday.

Moffitt (knee) and St.Louis (hamstring) both said they will play Saturday at West Virginia.

"We have a number [of players] who didn't practice [Monday], but I expect everybody back," USF coach Jim Leavitt said. "I don't know how much they'll be able to practice. That's tough. You can't simulate [West Virginia QB Pat] White and [RB Steve] Slaton. That's pretty hard."

AIR BULLS: With West Virginia owning the nation's 26th worst pass defense, USF QB Matt Grothe said the Bulls could enjoy some success through the air.

"It seems like they've given up a lot of passing yards," Grothe said. "We'll be able to throw against them and if we get to the fourth quarter, that's when our defense plays its best."

USF is averaging 220 yards passing a contest, third best in the Big East, while the Mountaineers allow 228 yards a game, worst in the Big East.

It was explained better in another thread ... but,

MLB BackUp Mompremier didn't travel/injured Shoulder.

St. Louis moved to MLB.

DE C. Robinson & 5-11 BackUp Miller shared St. Louis' position.

Regarding next year ... we have JuCo Spires coming in along with SO Peoples (who is #2 behind Nicholas now) and RS-FR McQueen, Joseph & Glover who all had stand-out HS careers.

We have been lucky our starting 3 LB's have been healthy to save these RS's.

Moffitt is be back to "QB" the LB's. Will be some great battlews for replacements on the Outside.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
