How many teams made a bowl last year? I can't recall.

Anyway, it seems like some sports writers predict the following:

WVU & Louisville =BCS

USF, RU, Pitt, Cincy = Bowl

That's more cash than last year's 3+ million to USF, right?

Well, considering that we could get two teams in the BCS, that would give us around 3 million alone.

More like $2M Rizzo, You only get $4.3M for the 2nd BCS team.

After reading what some are saying today in order for the NE to get 2 in the BCS we're going to need UF to win the SEC (Taking the Sugar Bowl spot), Oklahoma to lose to Oklahoma State, or Boise St to lose to Nevada.

The Orange Bowl has said they will probably take UF as an at large if they beat FSU and lose in the SEC title game. This is directly related to the fact that they are worried that the ACC team GT/Wake/Maryland will not be bringing the crowd they want.

The Rose has already talked to Oklahoma according to some reports, and will probably be looking their way if USC wins out, to set up a Michigan/Oklahoma Rose Bowl.

The most common I've seen today scenrio today this this.

NC - OSU v. USC

Rose - Michigan v. Oklahoma

Sugar - Florida v. Notre Dame

Orange - Louisville v. Georgia Tech

Fiesta - Texas v. Boise State

There still is a lot of football left, and Nevada is no push over for Boise, as are FSU for UF and OK State for Oklahoma.

Oklahoma is ranked 15 right now in the BCS, so I find it a bit difficult that they would be selected, unless Texas loses and they win the Big 12 Championship.

JimUSFsig might know this better, but I do believe you have to be ranked in the top 12 in the BCS in order to have a shot at being selected. Oklahoma is not likely to get there if they don't go to the Big 12 Championship.

It's top 14 now, and with Rutgers and WVU squaring off, Oklahoma should be safely in that zone.

I didn't consider it until people were mentioning it in their articles.

This REEKS of Pac 10 trying to make good what their refs did bad in Eugene.

From the BCS website:

At-Large Teams

If there are fewer than 10 automatic qualifiers, then the bowls will select at-large participants to fill the remaining berths. At at-large team is any Division I-A team that is bowl-eligible and meets the following requirements:

 A. Has won at least nine regular-season games, and

 B. Is among the top 14 teams in the final BCS Standings.

In practice yes, but in theory there could be 10 auto teams. For example, Nos. 1 and 2 are both teams that don't win their conferences, so couple that with those two conference champs and you have four. The other four conference champs makes eight. And then some combination of at-large teams seeded No. 3 or 4 or teams like Boise State ranked in the top 12 from a non-BCS school.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
