Week 4

1) USF's Game

Sat 09/23 - USF (3-0, 0-0) @ Kansas (2-1, 0-0) - 7:00pm [FSN]

2) Games involving one or more schools on USF's 2006 schedule.

Obviously we should follow these games.

Sat 09/23 - Cincinnati (1-2, 0-1) @ #11 Virginia Tech (3-0, 2-0) - 12:00pm [ESPNU]

Sat 09/23 - North Carolina (1-2, 0-1) @ #19 Clemson (2-1, 1-1) - 12:00pm [ESPN Gameplan]

Sat 09/23 - #8 Louisville (3-0, 0-0) @ Kansas State (3-0, 0-0) - 12:00pm [FSN]

Sat 09/23 - Citadel (0-2, 0-0) @ Pittsburgh (2-1, 1-0) - 1:30pm [ESPN 360]

Sat 09/23 - Howard (0-2, 0-2) @ Rutgers (3-0, 0-0) - 3:30pm [ESPN Gameplan]

Sat 09/23 - Connecticut (1-1, 0-0) @ Indiana (2-1, 0-0) - 3:30pm [sNY]

Sat 09/23 - #4 West Virginia (3-0, 0-0) @ East Carolina (1-2, 1-1) - 4:30pm [ESPN2]

Sat 09/23 - Florida International (0-3, 0-1) @ Maryland (2-1, 0-0) - 6:00pm [ESPN 360]

Sat 09/23 - Miami (OH) (0-3, 0-1) @ Syracuse (1-2, 0-0) - 7:00pm [ESPNU]

Sat 09/23 - McNeese State (1-1, 0-0) @ Toledo (1-2, 0-1) - 7:00pm

IDLE: Central Florida

3) Games involving Notre Dame and Navy, because of their ties to Big East bowl games.

We want Notre Dame to do very well and Navy to not be bowl eligible, to ensure more open slots for Big East teams.

Sat 09/23 - Tulsa (2-1, 0-0) @ Navy (3-0) - 1:30pm [CSTV]

Sat 09/23 - # 12 Notre Dame (2-1) @ Michigan State (3-0, 0-0) - 8:00pm [ABC]

4) Games involving teams two ranked teams and at least one of the teams is ranked higher than the 2nd highest Big East team.

If the highest and 2nd highest teams can move up and up the polls, then there is at least a chance that 2 Big East teams could make the 10 BCS slots.  Big East ranks: #4 West Virginia; #8 Louisville.

Sat 09/23 - #24 Penn State (2-1, 0-0) @ #1 Ohio State (3-0, 0-0) - 3:30pm [ABC]

5) Games involving a Top 15 non-BCS team, or a non-BCS team ranked higher than any BCS conference's highest ranked team.

If no teams from the non-BCS conferences make the BCS, then that would mean 4 at-large slots in the 5 BCS bowls.  This increases the chances for 2 Big East teams to be selected.

NONE -- Highest ranked non-BCS team is #16 TCU; Lowest rank of a conference-leading team is #11 Virginia Tech (ACC).

6) Other games of interest.

NONE
