1. USF's passing attack: If UCF can force the Bulls to the air, the Golden Knights will have taken a giant step toward winning this game. Yes, Bulls redshirt freshman QB Matt Grothe is miles better as a passer than former starter Pat Julmiste. And, yes, USF has a nice group of receivers. But Bulls coaches don't want to have to rely on Grothe -- and certainly not on Julmiste -- to win this game.

2. UCF TB Kevin Smith: Smith had his worst game last season against the Bulls -- zero yards on two carries -- and he simply must produce today. If UCF can't run, it can't win. UCF wants to control the ball and the clock by running right at its opponent. That hasn't happened yet this season, though. USF has a nice defensive front seven, and its linebackers are especially active. That bodes ill for Smith and the other running backs.

3. UCF's linebackers: We don't want to pick on these guys, but they're the weak link on defense. Florida really exploited the Knights"backers last week, and though USF doesn't have as much speed as the Gators, the Bulls do like to use three- and four-receiver sets and get their wide receivers in good matchups. UCF's linebackers also need to hold up in the running game.

Why wouldn't we want to rely on Matt? You can easily see how much of a leader he is. He is a guy I would want to rely on.

Nice analysis by the Slantinel. USF threw all over the Kaniggits and Kevin Smith got suspended.  ;D
