Murphy, a redshirt freshman, has played sparingly with five tackles in two games. He backs up Trae Williams.Kicker still working: Leavitt knows kicker Mike Benzer is struggling. The Orlando native is 0-for-5 in field goals since 2005 when he was replaced by Kyle Bronson, who now plays for Texas State. Leavitt said he has plenty of faith in Benzer."Benzer looked real good (Wednesday)," Leavitt said. "I've never faltered on him or lost confidence in him."Leavitt said if Benzer continues to struggle, freshman punter Delbert Alvarado, who already replaced Ilia Petrov, is his next option

Couldn't you use it as an unfair advantage by whacking opposing players with it?? ;D

As long as he tackles and defends the pass, he'll be fine.

I want to say it was a linebacker somewhere, and I specifically remember him batting down several passes with the cast hand. Not sure if it was college or pro.
