This is my second year at USF and I have noticed a deep disliking of SG and the Greeks. Experiencing first hand last year some of the issues gives me a start as to why, such as the concert and the election mis-handling.

Could someone please elaborate and give me a deeper history as to where this problem came from?

Is this about USF athletics? I must be on the wrong board. I'm getting sick of the whining which I can see this turning into.

I never said you were whining and this is not a topic about USF athletics.

It has everything to do with SG elections and the Greeks who have run in them. OR the candidates who were not Greek and how they handled wooing the Greek vote.

If you really want to know it would probably be a full evening of discussing history dating back to Mike Griffin and Dave Mincberg, the last time Greeks and SG had a good relationship.

I'm not trying to cause trouble. I just want the story behind SG and the Greeks.

Greeks are organized... organization brings communication... communication brings a unified front... a unified fronts lobbying.  Same with the Black Student Union and other large groups... those who speak up... and the right time... get heard.

It helps that those who are part of those orgs, greek or not, are very active and therefore heard more.

Dude, this issue with SG, Greeks, and non-Greeks goes back to a time before you even grew pubic hairs.  It goes back before a time when you were nothing more than a twinkle in your dad's eyes and an extra large Vodka Collins consumed by your mom.

Go see the film Revenge of the Nerds, then go see the film Animal House.  The animosity was around in the 80's, the 60's, and probably way before then.

Does this younger generation ever think, or are they too self absorbed with their cell phones and  iPods to notice the world and history of the world around them?
