It is incredibly arrogant and ignorant of UCF fans to say the Bulls' reluctance to continue this series is born out of fear.

People around here don't seem to realize the Bulls don't need to play UCF. It's a meaningless series for the Bulls no matter how much money and local interest it generates.

Yours truly,

No one ever liked Jemele Hill.  She doesn't know anything about sports.

Very good article.  All true, but now that the games are scheduled they all need to be played.  USF certainly has a TON to lose, but the key is they can't lose.  After all, if they do this Saturday there are still two more to play.

I agreed from the outset of all the reasons this was a horrible scheduling blunder - basically Jamele Hill's logic -- but what is done is done.  I think she states it perfectly here:

The last thing they need is to lose to a rival from a non-BCS conference...

yea...regardless of which team is better (not the arguement anyone is trying to make, i think we know why  ;D )  but BCS schools do not have rivals with non-BCS schools.  if they do, it is because its something that dates back 50 years way before BCS was around and you can bet that on those few cases the BCS team is trying EVERYTHING they can to downplay that team and start a new rival.

this is something a few schools are dealing with, not just USF.  the ucf fans want to make it seem like we are scared or think we are too good.  the fact is, we have bigger fish to fry.  if UCF was in the SEC or something then i bet everyone would be saying bring it on.

Ya, but the same can be said of Miami, FSU, or Florida with us.

As long ast the game is economically good to us, we should play it. (Look at our 1st two crowds...pitiful for a BCS team that went to a bowl game)

So says:

Colorado vs Colorado St

Ole Miss vs Memphis

Tennessee vs Memphis

Kentucky vs Louisville (UL was a CUSA Team till last year)

Notre Dame vs Army

Notre Dame vs Navy

Point is...Jemele Hill...a mostly basketball writer from Detoit...doesn't know much about college football.

If she did...she would realize that not many schools BRAG about scheduling teams like Kansas, UNC, Indiana, etc....

KL,

You have to admit that this article is a hell of a lot better than what Bianchi does. The day Bianchi leaves Orlando and goes back to Gainesville will be one of the best gifts that UCF can get.  Sun Sports has become such a joke because of Bianchi in my opinion. At least this writer is taking a different angle, and trying to say the truth on why USF does not really want this rivalry with UCF. Bianchi just likes to stir things up with both UCF and USF only to remind us all that we are never going to catch his beloved Florida Gators.
